Dr. Michael M. Reinhard is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Emory University in the Department of Film and Media. Dr. Reinhard has published research in Velvet Light Trap, Transformative Works and Cultures, Feminist Media Studies, The Films of Susan Seidelman, and Intersectional Feminist Readings of Comics. Future work is slated to appear in Television & New Media, Radical History Review, Feminist Media Histories, GLQ, and Sexualities. Currently, he is developing his research monograph The Diva’s Public: Celebrity, Media Activism, and the New Cultural Citizenship to explore new logics of mediated citizenship and social activism in contemporary media. This project draws on his expertise in consumer culture, gender & sexuality, digital/social media, and media industry approaches to cultural history.
