Dr. Michael M. Reinhard is an Assistant Professor of Communication and Media at Kennesaw State. Dr. Reinhard has published research in American Quarterly, Television & New Media, Feminist Media Histories, Velvet Light Trap, Transformative Works and Cultures, and Feminist Media Studies. Currently, he is developing his research monograph Queer Contagions: Global Cultures of Popular Queerness and Anti-Queerness in the Algorithmic Era to explore the impact of the internet on LGBTQ+ media, as well as how algorithms have shaped anti-queer backlash politics online. This project draws on his expertise in global platform economies, gender & sexuality, digital/social media, and media industry approaches to cultural history.
